About us

Our History

It's fascinating to learn about the history of Worli Ambedkar Nagar and its significance in the development of Mumbai. The inauguration plaque provides a glimpse into the past and highlights the efforts made by the government to provide housing for industrial labor in Bombay.

The fact that the colony has remained unchanged amidst the rapid growth of Mumbai is a testament to its historical importance and resilience. It would be interesting to explore further and document the changes and developments in both the colony and the surrounding areas over the years.

Preserving such historical sites becomes crucial not only for the sake of nostalgia but also to recognize the contributions and efforts made by individuals like Shri Balgangadhra Kher and Shri Jagjivanram in shaping the urban landscape of Mumbai. The colony stands as a living testament to their vision and the history of industrial labor in Bombay.

Redevelopment

In order to ensure safety and security of its citizens living in old and dilapidated Buildings in Grater Mumbai, Government is providing various incentives/promotional benefits to go for Redevelopment. Due to our buildings having out-lived their age and deteriorating by the day and Structural Auditors have strongly recommended for Redevelopment, we have collectively decided to go for Redevelopment of the Area as a Group of Societies/Cluster Redevelopment using a Builder/Developer Model.

This Web Site is created mainly for use by the bonafide Members of the Four Societies and for the Authorities Concerned, only to disseminate information on progress and decisions taken by the Members/Authorities from time to time, on Worli Ambedkar Nagar Area Redevelopment Project so as to ensure total transparency, quick exchange of information and appraisal.
